Building community-powered cultural pipelines that connect neighborhood creativity to regional and national stages.

Macks Impact Foundation (MIF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing arts education, cultural programming, and community connection. Rooted in Black cultural tradition and HBCU excellence, MIF leverages music and the arts as tools for cognitive development, creative expression, and workforce readiness.

Founder’s Story | Why MIF Exists

Founder Jessica “J Macks” Macks was identified early as a child with dyslexia and ADHD. Traditional learning environments presented challenges, but music became a pathway to focus, structure, and academic growth. Through arts education, she progressed from remedial coursework to graduating from Johnson C. Smith University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Business and Performing Arts. Music provided consistency, confidence, and opportunity. Macks Impact Foundation was created to ensure young people—especially those who learn differently—have access to creative education that strengthens the mind, supports development, and opens pathways to sustainable careers.
